Hi, R2L

Sorry that it was not possible for you to share the loot on 190623.

So, tell me about your handle ... You have provided no help whatsoever
as to whether you are 'live' as in 'liver' or 'live' as in 'jive'.

And, as you are obviously a tech guru, am I right in thinking that
it's a typo for Red to Live (as in 'jive')?

Regards

Meg

And does it matter anyway with a SCARTy thing?

Hi, Meg,

It's just as well Magnesium did not get round to accepting your bet,
you would have lost. I am indeed a librarian, and the handle is "read
to live".

I was stuck for a GA name when asked, and looked round the room for
inspiration. My wife had recently made a wall-hanging, picturing
things we hold important like cats and maps and friends and books,
books, books, along with the heading, "read in order to live". Thus
the pseudonym.

I guess I am a techy person, but much of it is self-taught. I often
think that's to the good because I try to avoid (meaningless)
technical language, try to explain technical stuff in language I *can*
understand, try to find analogies.

I also believe in reading, that people become better readers by
reading, and that better readers understand more quickly, more fully,
can empathize more deeply. With so much of the internet text-based,
reading remains an essential skill, a basic survival skill.
Traditional (printed) books may die out (not for a long time yet, I
hope!) but reading skills are vital. Read To Live!

Hope thats sufficient to answer your query, you are very kind giving
me a second chance. (And it's quite a thrill, getting one of those
"For so-and-so-ga only". That's my first one. Thanks.)

All best wishes, R2L

Hi, r2l

So you're a librarian, huh?

No, how on earth did Magnolium figure that out?

Many thanks, anyway.

Meg

I always assumed that 'read2live' was l33t-speak for 'read to live'
(pronounced in such a way that it would rhyme with 'feed to give'). I
bet this person is a librarian, as are so many GA researchers.

Hi, Magnesium

I bet you're wrong.

That Read2live is certainly NOT a librarian.
