There is a scene I remember from a film, and I want to see the whole
thing.

The scene started with the star of the film practicing Tai Chi, or
some other type of martial art, in the park.

On the bench were a couple of bums watching. After a while one of the
bums starts joining in.

Then they show the guy practicing a few days later, and about a dozen
bums are practicing with him.

It was probably a martial arts film starring someone like Van Damme
or, God help us all, Seagal.

What is the name of this film?

edrox,

I tend to agree with you there, and would like to clarify the
question. It may not have been a film in the martial arts genre,
although at first I figured it would have been from the scene.

I'd say it would be some sort of action flick.

I haven't been able to find the film, but I think "Tai Chi with Bums
in the Park" would make a terrific title for a short story. ;-)

BTW - I know this won't be any help, but I do not think it is a
martial arts film. As i recall, the lead character in the movie was
doing htis as his everyday exercises, and others started joining in.
I don't recall it as a Martial arts flick.

It wasn't "Say Anything" was it? This sounds so familiar. If not "Say
Anything" then something with John Cusack, maybe?

I know there was a tai chi scene in "The Killer Elite" but I'm fuzzy
on the "bum in the park" issue. You might see if anything rings a
bell here:

I think I have the filem, but am having a hard time substantiating it.
If an official Googla Answers Researcher wants to contact me, I'll
tell you what I think it is

Could it be "DOWN AND OUT IN BEVERLY HILLS" perhaps? I don't have the
movie on hand but if this jogs a memory maybe you can rent it and take
a look.

Well - no official researcher contacted me.

I think the movie is "Rising Sun" with Sean Connery and Wesley Snipes.
I could be wrong, but that is sticking in my mind. I tried every
resource I could to substantiate this, short of watching that bad,
bad, movie again.

Anyway - is this it?
