Can you please help me find the following:
I am looking for temporary housing for part of june and july and will
then move into a short term rental from august through December.

Would you look into temp housing for 2 weeks in june and 2 weeks in
july. The area is NW Washington DC. Midtown (Streets 15 - 26
basically), Georgetown and Northern Virginia. If you could look for
leads on Short term rental that would be helpful as well. Thanks!

Greetings r2:

I have discovered four current possibilities for you (with the promise
of more to come via a realtor). On Massahusetts Avenue between 14th
and 15th streets, I located a hotel that has a suite available for the
time frame you desire. Homeward Suites is their name and they offer
a 1BR type suite: full bedroom (king bed), living room, bath, full
kitchen and also laundry service, daily housekeeping, complimentary
breakfast and a "Manager's Reception" from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. nightly
Monday through Thursday where complimentary beer, wine and salad bar
are offered to guests.

The rate per night for 30 or more nights is $129 translating to $3,870
for a 30-day stay, parking *NOT* included.. The phone numbers for
Homeward Suites are 202-265-8000 and, toll-free, 800.225.5466. I
spoke with a gentleman named Matt at the first number and he gave me
the information. He currently has suites available for your time
frame.

I discovered this hotel through a search of "Georgetown short-term
executive rental D.C." (no quotation marks used in search). That led
me to http://www.apartments.com/search/oasis.dll?p=google&rentrange=1&allsizes=1&allbaths=1&am8=3&mode=4096&page=Results&area2=Y&subarea9=Y&subarea12=Y&state=dc&rgn3=34&partner=google&prvpg=5&cont.x=54&cont.y=5
where I found Apartments.com search program to drill down to your
desired locations of georgetown and midtown. The search page for D.C.
begins at http://www.apartments.com/search/oasis.dll?page=region&state=dc&partner=google
if you wish to perform a search of your own - they showed well-defined
areas of the D.C. region.

I then located a listing of realtors at
http://linkre.com/index.php?t=sub_pages&cat=927. On that list was the
URL for Corporate Apartment Specialists of Washington, D.C., at
http://www.corporateapartments.com/ - their text reads in part "If you
are staying in Washington, DC for more than a month, Corporate
Apartment Specialists has the right apartment for you. With our great
locations and spacious apartments, you can't go wrong. Best of all,
our apartments are always available month-to-month."

I phoned them at 800.914.2802 and spoke with Ned Scharpf who was very
affable and helpful. I explained to him I was fact-finding for a
client and informed him of your location preferences and ETA. He
explained that rentals are available month-to-month (30 day minimum)
and he offered three current listings within your time frame and in
the areas you desire:

1. Studio apartment in Woodley Park (midtown), parking *NOT* included
in rent.
$2,390 per month.

2. Full apartment: 2 BR, 2 BATH apartment in Ballston, part of
Arlington (northern Virginia), parking *IS* included in rent.
$3,450 per month.

3. Studio in Pentagon City (northern Virginia), parking *IS* included
in rent. $2,390 per month.

If you are driving to D.C. or you plan to rent a car while there, the
included parking is a *great* boon. Ned said that he will be
receiving more listings throughout this month and the months to follow
as they handle numerous short-term rental properties. I suggest you
contact him at 800.914.2802 and allow him to assist you further as he
seems an excellent source for your needs. Those rates are lower than
the hotel I first mentioned I have included it anyway so you will
have a basic idea of rental rates.

If you prefer to contact Corporate Apartment Specialists online,
please visit http://www.corporateapartments.com/index.cfm?action=contact
for their email inquiry form. There is a Comments section towards the
bottom of the form and you may want to request his name there as your
agent.

Should you require Clarification of any links or information I have
provided, please request it and I will be happy to respond.
