How long does information stay on a credit report?  Is it different
for 'good' information and adverse information?

Thanks for the question. :-)

The short answer is that "bad" information stays on your credit report
for 7 years (in most cases), while "good" information stays
indefinitely.

It may also depend upon the state in which you live. In New York, for
instance, certain derogatory credit will "fall off" your report sooner
if you pay it off, than if not.
