Hi,

are you talking about the Gazelle bicycle that jeanwil-ga has
described, or are you talking about the Dutch style road bike, seen at
www.gazelle.nl?

I have made enquiries to the Gazelle manufacturers in the Netherlands,
and to a UK importer of Gazelle cycles.

Would it be satisfactory to find a supplier who would be willing to
ship to the US? I would understand if it wasn't, as you would want to
test ride the machine first.

I have received a reply from Kees Oldenburg, at Gazelle bikes, in the
netherlands. He says that they are not allowed to export bikes to the
US. He said "It is the law of the product liability which blocks it
for us."

I will attempt to get you a price for a bike to be shipped to the US.
It is likely that it will be cheaper to buy a bike in the Netherlands
or Europe and ship it from there, than to buy it in the UK and ship
from here. I will point this question out to some European
researchers, and see if they can find the information.

Cycle Heaven (http://www.cycleheaven.co.uk), based in York will ship a
Gazelle bike to the US, for approximately 200 UK pounds - they realise
that this may well be prohibitively expensive, but have done this in
the past. Their range of Gazelle bikes is at:
http://www.cycle-heaven.co.uk/gazelle.html.

The exchange rate (today) is 1.57 dollars to the UK pound.

Hi pooh8994-ga,

I spoke to Rod and he said that they sell the Gazelle bicycle and they
start at $2000, I called today Good Friday and he said that it was his
day off and that I was lucky to get him.

Here is the contact information.

"The Gazelle is a fast, moderately low, long-wheelbase road bike
designed to be partially faired. The standard size will accommodate
persons from approximately 5'0" to 6'4". The seat height can be
adjusted from a moderately low 20" seat position to a taller and
ergonomically more relaxed 24" height, depending upon the needs of the
rider."
