I'm a 20-something about to start an architecture program and I would
like to begin thinking on the right side of my brain with some summer
art classes (drawing, painting, etc.). I could go anywhere in the
country, though I'd prefer some place with comfortable weather and a
low cost of living (since I'll have only a part-time job if any).
Also I'm looking for a program with at least some people my age -- not
all teens and not all seniors. Any ideas?

Hello viseu,

I have found a variety of summer art programs for adults. You can
look through them and see if any of them are what you are looking for.
They are all over the country. I have even included a couple in
Canada.

Brentwood Art Center in Los Angeles, California

Chicago isn’t particularly a cheap place to live, but you are more
likely to be able to find part time work. It does offer scholarships.
The School of the Art Institute of Chicago

Worcester Art Museum; Worcester, Massachusetts.

Southwest School of Arts & Crafts in San Antonio, Texas.

Northland College on Lake Superior

The Cleveland Institute of Art.

Artspace in Raleigh, North Carolina has adult art programs.

The Snow Farm in New England

I know you said U.S., but I found this nice program in Ontario. It is
for adults and youth, although, you may have trouble getting a part
time job in Canada.

Thanks, this is helpful. A couple of those programs were for kids,
but I found three promising options.
