As I type a real researcher may be hard at work on your question. I'm
trying to think why they might not be. You did not specify USA or
another country. Either way, donations by the branch in a specific
country may not always be easy to separate from donations from other
branches in other countries. If you are thinking worldwide, then the
definition of corporate gets hazy ie were there any corporations in
Iraq and some of the other Arab countries, some of which have huge
amounts of money they donate secretly? I presume you would not
consider donations to terrorist activities Socially Responceable, but
there are many grey areas that would make ranking difficult. Is a
donation for gay and lesbians socially responcable? Donations to
abortion clinics, to the Roman Catholic Church? I think you can also
see that 1988 to 1999 for one corporation may not rank well with 2001
data only for another corporation. Adjustments for inflation
complicate ranking as do international exchange rates of currency
which may not be considered realistic by some corporations and
countries. Since tax laws very widely, estimating the amount of
exageration also is challanging for the person attempting to rank.
You said sponcers or donations. The cash value of sponcer ship may
also be a challange, requiring an appropriate finagle factor. Neil |
