Applied for new title as original lost. We own this vehicle - paid off
approx 1998 but informed the title shows the lienholder as Jayhawk
Acceptance Corp in Dallas, TX. The numbers 800-891-9999 & 214-663-1200
are no longer good. The only info the revenue office will give is that
Jayhawk is no longer in business. How do we get this lienholder
removed or find out if Jayhawk merged, sold out to another or
operating under different name as a replacement title cannot be issued
until lienholder removes all interest?

Howdy gingeesgirl!

You were given the correct information about Jayhawk Acceptance being
out of business, but there is someone that handling their affairs.

Mitchell Smart
800-865-4295
214-561-7100

Jayhawk Acceptance Corporation
2001 Bryan Street
Dallas, TX 75201

I spoke with Mr. Smart on the phone and he said that it would be best
if you can provide your loan account number, or the complete name that
is on the title in the worst case.

Search strategy

"jayhawk acceptance"

Once I had their address, etc. I looked up additional phone numbers
for them through the AT&T Directories web site.
http://www.att.com/directory/

The second number in the list reached Mr. Smart and he provided the
800 number, etc.

If you need any clarification feel free to ask.

Looking Forward, denco-ga
