What is the most cost effective way to promote our online language and knowledge assistance tool? WordSniffer's core user bases are students, researchers and/or non-native English language speakers who need to lookup various dictionaries and reference books constantly. If you think search engine submission service is cost effective, please let me know which companies are good at site submission in Asian and European languages to Asian and European search engines. Thank you very much. | |

There are a number of ways to advertise a site. The first thing to do is to be sure that each one of your pages has a good number of keywords embedded in the text. For example, you may wish to make each translation option into a seperate page. For example Chinese to English translation would be on one page, and French to English translation on a seperate. You can still have one central page like you have now, but have these seperate pages as well and be sure they are all interlinked and that each page has "chinese english translation" and/or other relevant keywords embedded in the text of that page. You can then submit it to the different search engine. Do NOT use a tool that submits to thousands of search engines at once. You can use partially automated tools. I recommend http://selfpromotion.com/. If you do have a specialized company do this for you make sure to get one that guarantees certain rankings in the search engine. A few companies like this are http://topsearchengineranking.net/ http://www.toptenrank.com http://www.guaranteedtoprankings.com I have never used these services and can't vouch for them. I did find these in the top 10 at google so I would say that's a good sign! Easily the most cost effective way to advertise is through CPC (cost per click advertsing). I just finished a "top 10 tips" for CPC advertising that I would refer you to: http://answers.google.com/answers/main?cmd=threadview&id=193878. To be more specific here is a list of keywords search terms that I would recommend you use: english chinese translator english japanese translator english german translator english italian translator english spanish translator english french translator english latin translator english chinese translation english japanese translation english german translation english italian translation english spanish translation english french translation english latin translation english chinese dictionary english japanese dictionary english german dictionary english italian dictionary english spanish dictionary english french dictionary english latin dictionary english chinese dictionaries english japanese dictionaries english german dictionaries english italian dictionaries english spanish dictionaries english french dictionaries english latin dictionaries translator translation dictionary dictionaries And of course, you will want to get as many sites as possible to link to yours. Not only do you get click throughs for free but this will improve your search engine ranking. Since your service is partially free you may be able to get a lot of "virtual reference desks" to list your service. Good luck and hope your business is prosperous and successful for you! -shiva777 |
