Suppose I want to send a micropayment online. However, PayPal asks me
for a US billing address, which I don't have. What other alternatives
do I have?

Five stars guarenteed, even if the answer is to ask this person, if he
or she are Researchers, a GA question.

Hi there :)

Sorry if I'm confusing the issue but if you sign up with PayPal as an
International Member, you shouldn't have to give a US billing address:

https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_international-register

Again, sorry if I'm simply missing the point on this one!! I sent
through a PayPal payment (using a European billing address) and it
went thru no probs.

I've left this question open in case any other Researchers hit the
mark more specifically on this one.

Hope that helps
jem-ga :)

The question is now:

"Could you please direct me to one (or more, not necessary)
micropayment alternatives to PayPal?"
Answer

Here are a few paypal alternatives with description

ProPay.com is sponsored by The Lake Bank, in the United States. I was
impressed by actually talking with a live person ONLINE! Give them a
try. Any feedback is appreciated.

Billpoint.com is a product of eBay. is free to the buyer and works
internationally. It is backed by Wells Fargo, a FDIC insured bank.
(CAUTION: Ebay is buying Paypal, so we don't know where the quality
of service is heading).

c2it.com is probably the most similar payment service to Paypal. They
are operated by Citibank, a real FDIC insured bank. Here is a test:
Quick, find the www.c2it.com telephone number. Ok, now find Paypal's.

United States Postal Service! The USPS provides an online service to
send money online. They also have a service where payment is made
after a Priority mail delivery is confirmed.

Western Union Bid Pay (bidpay.com) is an online money transfer service
for online auctions. Western Union has been around for quite some
time in the paper money world.

Yahoo! PayDirect (paydirect.yahoo.com) is a joint venture of Yahoo and
HSBC bank. Deposits are fully FDIC insured. Rates are 2.5% + 30
cents/transaction. It is very similar to Paypal, except their terms
of service are not nearly as long.

//Overseas///

AnyPay.com uses the each countries local processing system to complete
EFT transactions between bank accounts. This is a completely
different approach for these types of payment systems. It's sort of
like an electronic check. Worldwide access.

Paymate.com has been suggested to us on a few occasions. We have
received only positive feedback with the exception that they should
only be considered for transactions to Australian sellers.
