I saw a website from a company called Dietary Genomics Inc the other
day when I was at the library. I came home and typed
www.dietarygenomicsinc.com and got nothing and I did a google search
and could not find it. I know the site exists, why can't I find it?

Hi mike1966,

Is this the site you are looking for?

Dietary Genomics Institute: The Consumer Information Source for
Nutritional Genomics:
http://www.dietarygenomics.com/

I removed the "inc" in your link.

If this turns out not to be the site you are looking for, please post
a clarification request before rating my answer.

Thank you,
hummer

Thanks that is the site. Why can't I find it on Google without paying
for finding it?

Thanks

Hi again mike1966,

Dietary Genomics probably seems invisible because the domain is brand
new.

Go to http://www.internic.net/whois.html
Type DIETARYGENOMICS.COM
Tick "Domains"
Submit

Look at the page that comes up. You will see that the domain has only
been registered for about one month. This doesn't necessarily mean
that they are a new company, it just means that the domain name is new
and they will need to do some work before their website begins to show
up in searches. They will need to submit their site to search engines
(such as Google), work on their meta tags, etc. for search engines to
find them.

Google isn't the only search engine who doesn't find them:
http://is1.websearch.com/_1_25UPT1504WF2RZ1__hunt.tabcrl/dog/results?otmpl=dog/webresults.htm&qkw=www%2Edietarygenomics%2Ecom&qcat=web&qk=20&top=1&start=&ver=615

As with all businesses (internet or otherwise), it is important to do
some homework first before giving anyone information about yourself.
My golden rule for internet shopping is to make sure the complete
contact information of the company is readily available - name,
address, phone, email - if it's not then I think it's probably best to
err on the side of caution.

Regards,
hummer

Hi mike1966,

I'm glad we were able to help you, thank you for the nice rating.

I'd like to emphasize the "we". Although I had intended to give credit
to my fellow reasearchers, I neglected to do so before I hit "submit".
A hearty "thank you" to pafalafa-ga and aceresearcher-ga for helping
me answer your clarification request.

Sincerely,
hummer
