Hello. "The Geto Boys" recorded the rap song that used the background music to "Sweet Home Alabama." The song was called "Gangster of Love." It's on the Geto Boys' self-titled CD, available from Towerrecords.com http://www.towerrecords.com/product.asp?pfid=1688481&cc=USD sources: "Hi I am looking for 'Gangster of love" by the Geto Boys. There are 2 versions out. One is the "Steve Miller Sample" version, and the other one is a lynard skynard "Sweet Home Alabama" version. If anyone can get me this song, in any format I'll be very glad and If I can I'll do something in return." source: newsgroup post, hosted by Google Groups: http://groups.google.com/groups?q=%22sweet+home+alabama%22&hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&selm=943816886.14506.0.pluto.d4ee5ca2%40news.demon.nl&rnum=3 "One of the earliest examples that I remember in the gangsta rap genre is "Gangster of Love" (Geto Boys), which sampled Lynyrd Skynyrd's "Sweet Home Alabama"" source: newsgroup post, hosted by Google Groups: http://groups.google.com/groups?hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&selm=330d3535.1549555%40news.mother.com "the magnificent Gangster of Love(the background music is "Sweet Home Alabama" by Lynyrd Skynyrd)." source: rapmusicville.com http://www.rapmusicville.com/Geto_Boys_B000000W8P.html search strategy: google groups: gangsta boogie, "sweet home alabama" I hope this helps. |

I have deleted from my server the audio file linked in my clarification request above, as I presume it is unneeded. |
