Before a Researcher can accurately address this, you would need to
share a few personal financial facts. You are anonymous in this forum
so I wouldn't worry about other people seeing "numbers-ga" info and
knowing who you are but be mindful that what you post can be seen by
others.

My questions for you are:

Do you have a mortgage on your current home?
Is the condo for vacationing or an investment purchase?
Have you already secured an interest rate with a lending institution?
What is a comfortable additional mortgage payment for you?

When you inquire "how much of my income should go to buy a condo," are
you looking for a percentage or actual monetary amount? That figure
would be based on what you currently owe and your comfort level for an
additional mortgage payment.

Thank you for any clarifications as they will asisst a Researcher in
filling your needs.

I have an equity mortgage on my current home. Since I am in the high
income bracket, I would like to diversify by investing in the condo.I
am in the talking stage with a real estate person.Since I have a large
number of J&J stocks, I may use part of these and the rest for a
mortage.I am looking for a percentage of my income for this
investment. Thanks.
