Question ID: 195805
How do we deal with fraud on the internet? My daughter is in the
military overseas. She wired $3,ooo to a person selling a motorcycle
on ebay. Ebay does not refund money, only suspends the person
committing the crime. We have the person's name, address,
phone,e-mail,& bank account information. We have contacted him, but he
says he knows nothing about the transaction. How can we find
information on how to best resolve this matter?

Hello Linda8~

I recommend you check out this excellent eBay "About Me" page:

http://members.ebay.com/aboutme/!turk

The information provided here is right on, and offers a number of
sources for dealing with Internet fraud. Specifically, you'll want to
go to http://www.cybercrime.gov/reporting.htm

and follow their procedures on reporting fraud.

Good luck!
