Thank you very much for your help on my Search Engine Hijacked question. Your input helped me in trying a variety of solutions. Im not really sure which one finally did it but all the clean up should help with other system-clogging messes as well. Ive closed the other question but I want to recognize that you helped. Tell me what is your favorite preventative maintenance tool or your most interesting recovery story. Thanks again, czh |

Howdy czh! Thanks for the question and very glad the other information was of some help. Here are two of my favorite preventative maintenance tools. Symantec's Norton SystemWorks works well for me. Norton AntiVirus keeps out the virii and CleanSweep clears the system quite nicely. With often offered rebates, it is very affordable. http://www.symantec.com/sabu/sysworks/basic/ There is the previously mentioned Ad-aware from Lavasoft, which is great for taking care of questionable cookies and spyware, and is free (for personal use...) as well! http://www.lavasoft.de/software/adaware/ Search Strategy: Personal experience. Looking Forward, denco-ga |
