I am in the process of setting up a realty web site. and what i am
looking for is content and realty terms that relate to realty. I
found some sites that have content and realty terms but the want you
to buy the content from them like:

http://inman.com/content/
http://www.realestatewebpages.com/content/upgrade.shtml
http://content.realestateabc.com/ "this is the free content from him
but it must be held on his site"

See i am a web designer and i want to be able to give my clients info
and not have to worry about "renewing it or getting off of some one
site" if it was a good site i would have no problem listing their info
or copyright but i would like to have the content on my site.

http://www.realestateabc.com "seen above" allows the content to be
used but it must be hosted on his server i would like to have content
similar to listing above and be able to control how it looks and not
to have to worry about the copy rights.

Are you trying to start a "real estate website" designer service like,
say, http://www.rcentral.net/ or do you simply have a client already
that wants you to design a real estate website (or a potential client
that might want this).

If the latter, what does your client want for info on their website?

I know that the most important thing that I would want would be easily
updated property listings (some sort of web-database integration), not
a glossary of real estate terms.

Not only that, but content that would be appropriate for one state or
locality might not be appropriate on your clients' site. Surely your
client has brochures, flyers, handouts, that they give to prospective
homesellers and homebuyers. Why not get copies of them and put them
on the website?

Thanks for all your input,

I will try to make it more clear on what i am trying to do.

See I am useing open realty from jon roig at
http://www.jonroig.com/freecode/openrealty/

I am trying to do some thing similar to http://demo.realadex.com. see
realadex.com for the main business site.

where i have it set up is at:
http://www.cybrac.com/realty/

along with openrealty i have add a
phpbb "form" to it so that when a realty agent want to allow the
person that the are sell the house for talk to people looking at the
site. So that they can answer an ask questions that they might have.
This can be turned on or off in the control panel.

To see this looking at a house listing it will have:

Speak with the Owners

see "look at the bottom"

http://www.cybrac.com/realty/listingview.php?listingID=2

then it will bring them to a form.

Also i have incorportated a Mortgage Calculator see

http://www.cybrac.com/realty/mortgage_calculator.php?listing_price=10000

and it takes in the house price from the listing.
and i am looking to bring in other php functions into the overall
concept like a newletter program so that the agents can get home buyer
updated.

and their is a control panel where they can easly add and change the
house and the template info. "User Log-In" at the top is where the can
long in and change thier listings ect..

I am in the "brainstorming phase" and i am trying to find options of
what i can put into a realty site so that it would be helpful to the
agents. And i want to make it so that if their customer where looking
to sell or buy a house that they would find there site usefull so that
they found by giveing them insite on what to do. So that it would give
the realty site more exposure to the community. See i want to find the
info "ect" that i want to put into the site before i start to develop
the look "template" .

See i want to make it into a site that all i have to do is adapt it
for different agency by changeing the color and possible change the
template to match diff. agency and i have a couple of realters talk to
me about what the want to do i am trying to set some thing up for them
to look at.

I have look at placeing diff "ticker" so that i could get new info on
a regular basis. I am trying to get as much info as i can find so
that develop the best realty site that i can.

See i have done other thing similar to this with varies city like:

http://www.cityofrockvalley.com/cms/index.php

useing postnuke from postnuke.com

hope this help

Greetings, cybrac!

If your client is affiliated with a major agency such as RE/MAX,
Coldwell-Banker, Century21, etc., they would likely be willing to
provide your client with free content for their site.

I would like to have the content before i talk to the clients.

Because private clients that are not affiliated will not have
content and if they are affiliated then i could use their content
for more $

Thanks
