Hello, I have created a letter size flyer in CorelDraw 11. It has a black background and has wording and my logo on it. AT this point everything on the flyer is vector, (non moving). In CorelDRaw, I can email out this flyer direct from the program by selecting File>Send to>Mail. At this point, a "Convert to Bitmap" box appears, then after that another box appears "Convert to Palatted", then after that, the Outlook Express 6 "outgoing message" box appears, press send and "Presto", the email sends and it looks good at the recipients end. BUT, I've tried to import into the flyer "animated gifs i've downloaded from the net. They work fine when you select the individual file in it's folder and rightmouse click to "preview" in windows picture/fax viewer. The Gifs rotate there. When i Import these gifs into the flyer they don't move anymore, and they don't move when i send the new flyer embedded with them to the mail. In Corel> File> Publish To The Web> HTML, I have tried this method also. Still, the image is non-moving when you email it. Can someone give me detailed (step by step) instructions how to use Coreldraw/Corel Paint 11 to embed animated gifs from the point where I have my vector flyer and now i'm ready to add a few gifs to it to make it complete. Do i have to export this flyer into a third party program then add the gifs? PS. What colour palatte should i be using for the best "web" results for my background. I know cmyk is for output printing and the black background looks faded when i used that palatte b4. This time i used RGB. Black background seems to be "real" black on the screen. Thanks, S. Keeley |

Seems like CorelDraw11 doesn't support importing animated gifs. At least, that was the word on the newsgroup re the version before yours. http://groups.google.com.au/groups?hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&threadm=VA.00000210.001085c1%40ntlworld.com&rnum=1&prev=/groups%3Fq%3D%2522import%2Banimated%2Bgifs%2522%2Bcorel%26hl%3Den%26lr%3D%26ie%3DUTF-8%26oe%3DUTF-8%26selm%3DVA.00000210.001085c1%2540ntlworld.com%26rnum%3D1 ...erk... Couldn't find anything on Corel's website, but you could email support and ask? |

I would suggest dumping Corel Draw and switching over to Jasc's Paint Shop Pro. They include a feature in their software package called "Animation Studio". It's very easy to use and you should be able to import your current Corel file directly into it. You can download a free, fully functional version of Paint Shop Pro at Jasc.com (only good for 30 days). This is what I use and it works well. |

I'm a CorelDraw user myself and I believe CorelDraw doesn't support this feature. I've tried making it work since I saw this question posted. Once you import an animated GIF, it is automatically transformed into layers of grouped images. And I think that even if you do publish it to HTML, the end result is of course, an HTML file. If so, it would be much easier for you to just use a program such as MS Frontpage. With a true webpage layout program, inserting animated GIF's is not a problem. |

Thanks for your input on my Gif problem. You guys have been a big help. I thought it was just me not being able to figure it out. I was trying to make something work that isn't possible... although, you'd think for a $500 program, it would come with all the bells and whistles. I'll give that Jasc Paint Program a try. The features of it look pretty good! and it's a fraction of Corel's Price. I sent Corel a complaint letter and told them to get with the times. In this day in age, people want to be able to send moving gifs around the internet. And they claim they have the "elite" all-in-one graphics program. Thanks again folks. Styles Q |
