Hello,
I have been given the responsibility of finding a way to dispose of a
large quantity of computer equipment for an office of the company I
work for. The office is located in Sao Paulo and the equipment
consists of desktop computer equipment such as printers, laptops, and
monitors.
This equipment needs to be picked up, all information on the hard
drives is to be erased securely, and the equipment should then be
environmentally disposed.
I am aware of several companies in the U.S. that provide services
similar to this, but have had no luck finding anyone in South America
whom currently offers this type of disposal service. I am interested
in reputable companies whom I can talk to concerning the services
explained above.
Thank you.

Brian, these is not exactly what you're looking for, but it's similar.
The first option is called SuperBid, a company specialized in selling
excess assets for other companies. A description is found below. The
second option is to donate the computers to one of the non-profit
assoaciations located in the country. I can personally help you in
finding both, since I have contact with both.

Superbid

Specializes in helping companies optimize the use of their asset base,
maximizing the value they get out of it. Superbid/MaisAtivo does this
by leveraging on its specific knowledge and capabilities in the real
estate, equipment and logistic asset markets.

The management of surplus assets and inventories in emerging markets
are burdened by mechanisms with high costs of intermediation in
physical markets such as auctions that are inefficient and neither
transparent nor coordinated. In addition, the granular nature of the
surply base of their products creates additional costs in capturing
the demand side as it lacks the integrated information potential
buyers need to find such surplus products. Superbid/MaisAtivo brings
together new IT tools and best practices.
