Okie dokie Mr. Smokey, here we go:
I've taken your statements, added my own and used composition ideas
and borrowed from the sample business plan of an Internet cafe at
http://www.bplans.com/c/sp/d/index.cfm?s=1031&topic=1#1 as a guideline
for my text. I have placed no quotation marks on borrowed terms and
phrases from the Bplans page, not in any effort to take credit but to
smooth the flow of my work. Because I make a habit of attribution, I
wanted you to know this is not an oversight, just a composition
choice. I trust you will examine the Bplan link above where you will
see the borrowed terms and phrases. However, most of the words are
yours and mine. Also, I'm psuedo-christening the business as
CyberFriendly for easy reference.

CyberFriendly, a retail storefront enterprise, was created to serve
the needs of technologically- and time-challenged persons of all ages
in facilitating their personal goals concerning Internet research and
education.
Unlike a solely Internet-based service, the staff of CyberFriendly's
physical location will serve as a highly personal, customer-friendly
option for both new and seasoned web users. Its main objective is to
address the needs of persons who wish to gather information but have
not the time, patience, training nor inclination to do so, and to
serve as a physical base for computer education for those customers
wishing to increase their Internet knowledge.
Services provided by CyberFriendly will be numerous and varied. A
customer may make use of CyberFriendly's staff to conduct or broker
all Internet services or research on their behalves and CyberFriendly
will also offer a host of seminars and one-on-one computer instruction
options catering to customers' individual needs.
Corporate needs will be serviced on an account basis and handled
through outside sales. CyberFriendly offers service plans designed
for small, medium and large area industries. Business accounts may
choose to retain CyberFriendly's research services through a monthly
flat-fee program, per project charge or hourly rate.
The interior shoppe design will be an innovative environment that
piques consumer curiousity. High foot traffic is anticipated due to
the unique presentation of CyberFriendly's services and products.
CyberFriendly will convey a warm friendliness designed to intrigue the
novice user while maintaining a fresh and professional appearance in
line with corporate user expectations. The retail store will be in a
convenient physical location for easy client access and visibility in
marketing.
The staff of CyberFriendly will be a diverse group as reflected in
area demographics. Young and old, male and female, the sales staff
will be affable as well as knowledgeable in all areas of computer
operation and research. Friendly, trained front line staff will
greet walk-in customers to assist them in numerous ways: locating
products, learning to list items on Internet auctions or helping them
research a topic. Some research will be outsourced to existing
Internet research businesses as CyberFriendly has no desire to become
its own research concern. Off-site support personnel would proof-read
requests and direct web desires received from the storefront.
The business will take on the requests of the customers to facilitate
web transactions and information collection. Retained off-site
'experts' around the world will funnel the requests to the most
reliable and proven web-based services. In short, the enterprise will
open the Internet door to anyone and everyone, regardless of
experience.
All cyber-related services will be offered. CyberFriendly will offer
a 'degeeked' environment that will make it appealing to all persons.
Since this market is very broad, it must not be intimidating, nor
appear to be catering to a select knowledge-based or specific
generational group. CyberFriendly will be about convenience,
convenience and convenience.
Among the services available to the public will be:
On-site Internet access
Internet instruction
Computer operation instruction
Genealogy research
General research
Brokered research

Regarding retail products, CyberFriendly will offer select lines of
software and computer office supplies although the main product will
be customer service and research. In its day-to-day operations,
CyberFriendly will:
* Educate the community on everything the Internet has to offer
* form of an environment that will bring people with diverse interests
and backgrounds together in a common forum
* Provide affordable access to the resources of the Internet and other
online services
* provide full access to email, WWW, FTP, Usenet and other Internet
applications
In addition to on-site services, CyberFriendly will maintain an
infomational website for its customers that will include local
bulletin boards and message groups, local news and weather, links to
top media and CyberFriendly-approved affiliates. It will also provide
a complimentary web page for local non-profit organizations, such as
domestic abuse services or senior programs, whose information is not
currently available online.
In addition, CyberFriendly will offer for-fee phone consultation for
technology challenged, adverse, reluctant or disadvantaged people.
They will also offer a housecall service for physically challenged
consumers at a very resonable rate. At all person-to-person encounter
points, opportunities for upselling services, education and products
are available.

I realize I went into some things you didn't mention. I pulled them
from my hat as what I would expect as an interested customer. I also
have some name ideas to share. You didn't request that but they
popped into my head so I figured I'd share them:
InterNetics
NetNology
NetNow
Should my description be lacking in any manner, please request
clarification and I'll be happy to respond. This has been a most
interesting assignment for me. :) |
