I run http://www.bootysmack.com and constantly scour the web for new
headline/story content daily.  I look for funny, interesting,
entertaining, clever, weird, and informative news
stories.

Currently the top sites I check out are:
News.google, drudge, fark, ananova, obscurestore, reuters,
forteantimes, e entertainment, apple movie trailers, aintitcool, yahoo
upcoming movies.

I am sure there are some gems out there that I do not know about.  So
I am asking for a list of sites that would be great for finding
stories to link to for Bootysmack.com.  You can check out the sort of
linking we do at the site.  I am also looking for maybe a site that
finds those brilliant flash movies that everyone distributes around
the net.  Like Squirrels Wee, All Your Base, Drop The Bomb and Saddam
Go Home (the dao song)..; etc.  I want to know the top sites for
finding those movies first, as-well.

I was able to find this Google Directory that shows lists of different
strange and funny news sites. Some of them are already in your
collection but most of them are new and come from reliable sources
like ABC and USA Today.

Here are the two which I check regularly:

Dave Barry's Blog

People send him links to strange sites as well as strange stories.

Blogdex
http://blogdex.media.mit.edu/
It's a daily-updated list of what blogs are linking to, ranked in
order of number of links. This includes not only articles, but also
"those brilliant flash movies that everyone distributes around the
net." Accordingly, I'd recommend checking Blogdex before the other
sites that do weird news only.

I like to peruse www.rense.com, www.realitycarnival.com, and
http://www.kurzweilai.net (Go to Accelerating-Intelligence News at top
right of site). They should have stories of interest....
