I am trying to get to an Options file that enables me to make changes
in a program called Event Planner.  I have been told that right
clicking on the Event Planner icon in the Taskbar will lead me to
Options; however, I do not have the icaon in my taskbar.  I do have
the icon on my Desk Top but right clicking on that icon just produces
a drop down with OPEN,etc.  So I need step by step instructions on how
I get this ican in my taskbar.  I have tried dragging the ican from my
desk top to the taskbar but that does not work.  Anyone have the nswer
to share with me?

The icons on the taskbar function the same as the icons on your
desktop -- these are both shortcuts. Even if you succeed in putting
the event icon on the taskbar, right-clicking on it will still give
you the same OPEN, etc. no matter what you do. I believe it is most
likely that you got the wrong instruction and you need to verify this
matter to whoever told you that.

I think what you are really trying to say is that you need this icon
in the "system tray" which is the rightmost portion of the taskbar.
You can not drag anything to this special area.

However, many programs that allow themselves to be placed in the
system tray have an option in the "options" or "preferences " section
that will say either "Show Systray Icon" or "Hide Systray Icon" or
sometimes, even though not correct, "Show Taskbar Icon" or something
very similar.

Open Event Planner and check all the options and preferences to see if
this is not the case with this program.

I gad to go to the vendor of th software and found out that the only
way this could be done was to uninstall and reinstall the program.  Of
course this would mean the loss of all the data which is something I
do not want to do.  So---I will just live without the one option I
could not reach.  thanks for you suggestions.
