Hello suppy-ga,
Apparently, it is fairly common for rebate checks to be drawn on the
First State Bank of Lake Lillian, MN. The answer column "The Straight
Dope" discussed this phenomenon in detail (though, as you can see,
some people in Lake Lillian took issue with the columnist's opinions).

The bank is an affiliate of Financial Services Management Corp.
(FSMC), a "high-volume check processing specialist" located in Lake
Lillian.

My guess is that the First State Bank and FSMC have some experience in
handling questions from the public, since they send out so many rebate
checks. So perhaps you might call one of them in the morning, to see
if you can determine what this check is about.
