I am looking for piano music for old camp songs that my Dad sang to
me. I'd like to make a recording of me singing them with piano
accompanyment for family/friends/kids. They are songs like "You Are
My Sunshine," "Taps," "Mares-Y-Doats," etc. Need a good site to
request/buy this music.

Hi kingwoman,

It's difficult to find the three songs that you mentioned in one book
(plus I don't know what the "etc." titles are), but I believe I have
found a good website for you. http://www.800sheetmusic.com has a
wealth of searchable titles - it will be a matter of browsing the
songs in individual books until you find the one that suits you the
most.

Search for each title you need and put "piano" as the instrument. When
the page comes up with various book titles, click on one of the items
to see details and a complete list of songs in the book.

YOU ARE MY SUNSHINE: 34 possible items:

TAPS: 3 possible items:

MAIRZY DOATS: 19 possible items:

The song "Mares-Y-Doats" is usually spelled "Mairzy Doats" and
actually means "Mares it oats".

The Flying Pig Campfire Song Book - M:
"Mairzy doats and dozy doats and liddle lamzy divey
A kiddley divey too, wouldn't you?
Yes! Mairzy doats and dozy doats and liddle lamzy divey
A kiddley divey too, wouldn't you?
If the words sound queer and funny to your ear
A little bit jumbled and jivey
Sing, "Mares eat oats and does eat oats
And little lambs eat ivy"
Oh! Mairzy doats and dozey doats and liddle lamzy divey
A kiddley divey too, wouldn't you?
A kiddley divey too, wouldn't you?"

When you do find a book which interests you, you can search at the
following sites to see if there is a used copy available:

http://www.abebooks.com
http://www.tomfolio.com
http://www.bookfinder.com Searches several sites but often doesn't
show all results.
http://used.addall.com/ Also searches several sites but often doesn't
show all results.

http://www.bibliophile.net
http://www.bookavenue.com

I hope this helps. If you have any questions, or if this doesn't
satisfy your request, please post a clarification request before
rating my answer. "You Are My Sunshine" is a favorite of our family
too - sort of my grandfather's "signature tune".

Thank you,
hummer
