I am curently working on creating my own personal Hagadah and need some
research help.
I am interested in the history of the Passover "Seder Plate." I would
like essays, newspaper or magazine articles, specific chapters in
books or what ever other sources are needed for a fairly thorough
understanding of the history of this item. Be sure they answer at
least the following questions:
When did the custom begin? Who? Where?
How has it changed through out time? In each period since it was
instituted?
I expect between 10 and 30 sources.

I am not as concerned with the number of sources as I am with the
thoroughness and specificity of the details.

Hello solar12123-ga -

You might want to consider increasing the list price of your question
to the $50+ range for the number of resources you're looking for.

Researchers should be aware that this question was previously answered
by a very thorough researcher who provided 31 pre-qualified annotated
links (which included a wealth of facinating information by the way!)

The customer was dissatisfied and the answer was voluntarily removed
by the researcher.

Researchers should also be aware that answering all of the specific
questions in my request is mandatory for a satisfactory answer. Links
to religious oriented websites (which I was directed to) do not
normally include the type of historical information that I am asking
for.

Whoa!

Looks like a no-win situation to try to answer that one!

Good luck whoever attempts this answer. I suspect it will be inadequate.

Hi -

I don't see too much on the web about this. At the price point, I may
be wrong, but it may be difficult for a researcher to justify doing
offline research to the degree you're looking for. I can't speak for
other researchers in this regard, but I'm just throwing you a
heads-up.

If you were indeed creating your own personal haggadah, rather than
(as appears to be the case) looking for someone to do your schoolwork,
you should welcome links from religious websites. In case you haven't
noticed, the seder is a subject of deeply religious significance.

Hi! Solar 12123, If you are doing pure research into the jewish faith,
and putting the results into a book or a paper to be presented, and
there is some form of recompense for you, either monetary or personal
satisfaction, you have posed an interesting question. But if you have
an actual belief that the knowledge will help you spiritually, I can`t
help but tell you that carrying out any traditional jewish practice is
totally pointless. The "LAW" as set out in the Old Testament was right
and proper in its time, but Jesus put an end to it with the New
Covenant { agreement} 1 Corinthians 11:25 . The first { Jewish]
covenant was established between god and Noah [ Genesis 6:18 and
Genesis 9;9] for the establishment of a chosen race. But once Jesus
took the message of god`s Kingdom { THE GOOD NEWS] to the gentiles, [
Acts 10;1][Cornelius]the Jewish race ceased to be the chosen people.
From then on, anyone had the opportunity to comply with God`s
requirements [Acts 10;34 At this Peter opened his mouth and said " For
a certainty, I perceive the God is not partial. 35.but in every
nation, the man that fears him and works righteousness is acceptable
to Him. So you can see that the Bible has all the answers, it`s only a
matter of being willing to look. And not a single idea of my own.
Happy studying.
