I'm looking for some content analyses of the U.S. broadcast media
during the Iraq war: specifically, radio, TV and newspapers. (I'm not
interested in Internet or other non-broadcast media.)

Some of the things I'm looking for are:

(1) The iconography of TV news, such as screen shots or written
descriptions of the actual images that appeared on the screen,
including branding logos (like the "Operation Iraqi Freedom" logos
that appeared on Fox and MSNBC), TV studio backdrops, photo montages,
etc.

(2) Quantitative and systematic assessments of the coverage in each
type of media, showing what percentage of messages was pro-war,
anti-war, neutral or "other." I'm particularly interesting in seeing
research from dispassionate, non-advocacy sources. (I already know
what the Media Research Center and FAIR have to say. However, if there
are other sources that )

(3) Comparative analyses of U.S. media coverage versus coverage by
media in Arab, European and other regions.

I'm especially interested in analysis of the period during the actual
war itself but would also be interested in information about media
coverage during the buildup to war.

Can anyone point me to some good sources for this kind of information?

Greetings Sheldon,
Though much time has passed since the posting of your question, I hope
it won’t be too late to give an answer. It has been quite a while and
the war is over, so as Mvguy said, I guess the analysis sites are up
on the Iraq invasion coverage. Now that I have searched, I found a lot
of sites. Let me list them below:

I hope that these sites, while not so reasonably organized, give you
the information you need to answer a good part of the questions you
asked.

Google Search terms used:
iraq war media analysis
iraq war coverage analysis
iraq war media coverage analysis
iraq media coverage analysis

If you need striking images, a search on images.google.com would yield
results. Use “iraq war” or similar as the search string.

I hope this has been a helpful answer. If you have any problem with
it, do please post a Request for Clarification and I shall respond.
Thank you.

My guess is that the good, objective analyses of war coverage won't be
forthcoming for a month or more,m possibly much more. Here are two
sources you might watch:
