For my home secutiry system, I use an X10 video controller and camera.
It records for a few minutes when a motion sensor is activated. It
does this by sending a Record signal to the VCR as if it were the
remote control, followed by a Stop signal a few minutes later.

My question relates to what action the VCR takes when it reaches the
end of the tape while recording.

While I used to have a VCR (the make and model long forgotten) that
simply rewound the tape, my current VCR rewinds the tape, ejects it,
and powers down the VCR. The former VCR would have worked perfectly
with the security system - if the VCR was recording when the end of
the tape was reached, the tape would rewind automatically, the Stop
signal from the video controller would be ignored, but crucially the
VCR would be ready for the next activation.

My question is to identify a VCR available new in the UK which simply
rewinds the tape and does not eject or power down. This will enable
my security system to continuously keep the last four hours of motion
around my property without my having to worry about rewinding the tape
every now and again.
