Hi! Thanks for the question.

The US Air Force ROTC provides a description of the duties and
responsibilites of an allergist.

"The Allergist examines, diagnoses and treats allergic diseases -
preparing and reviewing case histories and obtaining data through
interviews. Responsibilities include examining patients, interpreting
tests results, evaluating findings, prescribing specific medications,
diets and immunotherapy, and, in emergencies, treating patients
suffering from anaphylactic shock, angioedema, urticaria, bronchospasm
and other severe allergic diseases."

"Allergists manage allergy services - formulating plans and procedures
for allergy services, scheduling clinic and allergic testing, and
assigning nurses and medical technicians. They also advise on the kind
and quantity of allergy supplies and equipment, coordinate allergy
services with other medical activities, and instruct interns,
residents and fellows in allergy procedures."
