Greetings, ra1224!

Your Credit Union uses Java and ActiveX on its webpages. I am guessing
that you have Java and/or ActiveX disabled in your browser.

The sign-in page for your Credit Union is here:
https://www.cusa-hfs.com/cgi-bin/hfssvc/peoplescu/hfs.html

In order to use this, you must change your Browser Security settings.
If you are using Internet Explorer, click on "Tools" at the top of the
screen, and select "Internet Options". Click on the "Security" tab,
then click the "Custom Level button at the bottom of the dialog box"

Under "ActiveX controls and plug-ins"

Download signed ActiveX controls
   select the "Prompt" option
Download unsigned ActiveX controls
   select the "Disable" option
Initialize and script ActiveX controls not marked as safe
   select the "Prompt" option
Run ActiveX controls and plug-ins
   select the "Enable" option

Under "Java permissions"
     select the "High Safety" option

Then click "OK" and click "OK" again, and go to (or refresh) your
signin page:
https://www.cusa-hfs.com/cgi-bin/hfssvc/peoplescu/hfs.html

Be sure to set "Java permissions" back to "Disable" when you are done
with your session.

A further note... Your Credit Union brags about not using cookies.
Instead, they use ActiveX and Java, requiring you to have those set to
access levels that may leave your computer open hijacking by spyware
or other malicious scripts. In my opinion, the potential for harm here
is **FAR** worse than that offered by instructing your browser simply
to accept cookies fromt this particular site.

If I were you, I would complain quiet loudly and long to my Credit
Union for doing this with their online banking. I would also refuse to
do online banking in this manner, and I would move my account to
another institution.

Before Rating my Answer, if you have any questions about the above
information, please post a Request for Clarification, and I will be
glad to see what I can do for you.

I hope that this Answer has provided you with exactly the information
that you needed!

Regards,

Hi, ra1224!

In order to be able to assist you, I need to know exactly where the process fails.

Did you change your Java setting to "High Security" rather than "Disable"?

Were you able to bring up the login page?

Thanks,

Yes I can bring up the log in page. I type in peoples-cu.com Yes I
changed it to high security. And yes I could log in. But once I get on
the site the boxes under the picture of the bank are blank. I click on
internet banking, the menu bar is suppose to be on the left side of the
screen. The box is there but no options just the little box with the
circle diamond and triangle. Can you get on this site?

Yes, I am able to see the left-hand menu bar on this screen:

I am betting that you are either running a firewall with settings that
block this menu, or one or more of your browser settings are blocking
the menu.

Your credit union probably receives inquiries about their web access
all of the time, and I think that if you call them, they will be able
to tell you exactly what your settings need to be for you to access
the menu bar.

I would be glad to call them for you myself, but most banks will not
discuss such things with third parties for safety and security
reasons.

Their contact information is here:
719-523-6250
http://www.peoples-cu.com/Contact%20PCU.htm

I hope that this will enable you to obtain full functionality on their
website.

Best Wishes!

ra1224,

I've been doing some more poking around, and I'm convinced that the
red square, green diamond, and blue triangle are being generated by a
firewall or adware/spyware blocking program.

Is this happening on your home computer, or a computer somewhere else?

If it's on your home computer, do you have a firewall or
adware/spyware blocking program installed?

Are you on an IBM-compatible or a Mac machine?

What is the name and version of the Browser you are using (i.e.,
Netscape 4.0, Internet Explorer 5.5, etc)?

Thanks,

aceresearcher
