Question ID: 199076
How can I find the set of webpages which contain a <FORM> tag with an
ACTION attribute that contains a domain name or specific URL.

An example of the class of pages I am seeking would be: all those
pages that contain a google FreeWebSearch form like the one found at:

So a if a hypothetical site like bobs-lyrical-music-site.com were to
use html like:
<FORM method=GET action=://www.google.com/custom>
...
</FORM>

It would be a member of the set of pages I am looking for.

Clarifications:

My question is NOT about finding google search boxes, the question is
what query / site / tool can I use to perform a query like this.

Things I am already aware of that are not (in so far as I know)
sufficient:
The google operator: link
The altavist link function as well

I am willing and able to some limited post processing of results.

I should note that I have reviewed:
http://www.searchenginewatch.com/facts/article.php/2155981

It did not seem to indicate the desired functionality at any major search engine.

Hello, Zeus ...

There seems to be some confusion about what your question is.

Are you seeking what query to put in Google's search box to find all
pages that have a custom Google search?

Or are you seeking a way to put a search on your own site?

It is unclear exactly what you are asking - can you try to explain it
better?

Thanks ever so,
Serenata

Serenata,

I don't know if you are one of the people that has locked my question,
but PLEASE do no lock it if you don't understand the question. While I
think it was very clear I have tried again to clarify it...

>Are you seeking what query to put in Google's search box to find all
>pages that have a custom Google search?

No, but such a query might answer my question.

> Or are you seeking a way to put a search on your own site?

No.

> It is unclear exactly what you are asking - can you try to explain
it
> better?

I wish to find pages that contain specific HTML. The HTML I am after
is is the value of the the ACTION attribute in a <FORM> tag. All the
google stuff was an explaintory example.

More general clarification... I am willing to scrape pages or post
process results to find what I want. For example if somebody knew of a
search tool that would let me search the raw html of all pages for the
presence of a url anywhere in the HTML (in a link or title or text or
form or comment or whatever). I would sort out the results after the
fact to find the subset I want.

Another solution might be a search engine that included form action in
its "link:" index. Again, overly broad is ok. Right now I can't find a
way to match this info at all.

I have never seen any regular search engine with such a function. You
will need specialized software.

Specialized software?

Do you mean like tools to sort through overly broad results or to
fetch a few hundred pages, no problem.

Or do you mean like roll your own google, index the whole web the way
I want it?

One is within my abilities and one is not :)
