I found an article on Major Monroe celebrating his 131st birthday in
1946!

I have two other articles that date back to 1930 and 1924, but they
make little mention of his family other than being the son of
President Monroe, and being cousin to one General Nelson Monroe.

Would these three articles be a suitable answer to your question?

want to confirm his parents' names and any possible connection to Ross
Shire Scotland.
