I am seeking info.& pictures of Kennerley Boys Home which was situated
at 19 Hamilton St.West Hobart.I was in that institution from 1947
until 1954.It was a home for wards of the state. If at all possible I
would like to contact some of the people who were in there at that
time. They would all be around my age now, which is 64 years. What
happened to the building,I have heard that it is now a Nursing Home.

Hello there,

I wish you well with your search -- and it may be that someone can
find out information/pictures about Kennerley -- but I have to let you
know that the rules of the road here forbid researchers from actually
tracking down lost acquaintances...I'm providing just a bit of
information here that may be useful to you or another researcher.

There is a report in the Rare Collections room at the U. Tasmania
library:

charity	orphanage	1925	Kennerley Boys Home Report	M19/92
http://www.utas.edu.au/library/info/collec/arch/SubjectD.ascii

Contact information for the collection can be found here:

Perhaps one of the researchers can find out something more for you.

I am sure you'll get a 'real' answer from a Google researcher, but I
found this site and thought there might be some useful links for you
to begin your search for mates from Kennerley. (No relation to Kerrie
Ann is it? ;-). Best of luck. It's called the Armchair Web Detective
and it has specific information for Australia.
