I am looking for the parents of Karl C. Christiansen,born 11/04/1828,
Norway. Married 11/6/1854, Norway to Johanna Pedersen. Karl died
2/08/1904, Norway.  They had seven children 3 of whom I have
identified in the USA.

There are 6 records I can find of a Karl/Carl Christiansen born in
1828 in Norway (but they are without records of marriage or death
date).  Would you happen to know the town in which he was born?  The
closest record I can find is:

Strommen, Vestfold, Norway

Does this ring any family bells?

I have found a Carl C. Christiansen who was born 06/03/1828 and
baptized 07/04/1828, both events occurring in Oslo.  Do you think that

If you know any city in Norway where Mr. Christiansen lived or died,
please furnish so that researchers can have a better idea of where to
look.  You really need the assistance of a genealogical researcher in
Norway who has access to the exact records you need about this family,
and you can get that assistance by posting your query on the website
www.rootsweb.com (click on the "MESSAGE BOARDS" link, then enter the
phrase "NORWAY" in the "FIND A MESSAGE BOARD" box, and a page of
links/results will come up--look at #12 called
"BOARDS--LOCALITIES--SCANDINAVIAN AND BALTIC STATES--NORWAY--UNKNOWN"
and post your query there.

It would help with the research if you at least posted the names of
the children you located in the USA so that perhaps a currently
surviving member of this family could be located who could give you
the information you seek.
