What was the exchange rate of the Deutsche Mark in relationship to the
Dollar in August 1955?

Hi loophole-ga,

I was not able to find a monthly break down, but I did find that in
1955, it cost 4.21DM to purchase 1US dollar. Let me know if this will
do, and I will post it as an official answer.  Otherwise, maybe
another researcher can provide more details.

That information is good enough.  My boss came to the US in August
1955 with .65DM in his pocket.  He wanted to know how poor he was.  He
is now a multi-millionaire.  thanks

1955 you would require $4.21DM to purchace 1US dollar.
