I am VP of an "online nonprofit poetry community." The latest crazy idea was to offer our members cutrate dial up internet access, perhaps also with value added services tied into our community. Can you help me find a provider that has no minimum fees, (we found many who do it at $100/month, but we don't want to pay that!), no monthly fees, no significant setup charge, and charges us less then $10/month for dial up access? Thank you for answering this question. In case you wanted to know, our main website is http://www.paradoxpoetry.com as well as http://www.anylit.com, and (soon) http://www.poet.org. |

Try Access-4-Free.com

I have a site for ya. Try http://www.access-4-free.com . Easy signup and setup. The deal: the first 10 hours per month are free. Casual email users and light surfers can get by on the 10 free hours and owe nothing per month. After the first 10 hours, you're charged a buck an hour for the 11th through the 20th hours per month. After that it's free again. Maximum monthly cost: 10 bucks for unlimited access. I've set up 3 Access-4-Free accounts for myself and friends, and it's a solid little ISP. Includes email account. Works great either as a primary dialup or secondary on-the-road laptop account. Check it out. BTW -- I DON'T work for Access-4-Free. Just dig the service. ;-) |

I run a for profit company. I have been through the research and setup hassles you are probably now experiencing. I have done a lot of research in this area over the last 2 years. How many users do you think you can bring on board? It can be done I would just need more information on your specifics. Do you want to brand the internet access with your own name? Branding usually requires higher setup fees. Check out http://www.5starinternet.com as an example of what I mean by branded. Also consider your market. Where are the potential subscribers? It looks like your potential market is spread out everywhere. My suggestion is to look for providers with a large number of POP (points of presence). I would be more than happy to help guide you through this jungle. Let us just start with these questions. Then I will come back and try to answer and ask more. |
