Dear Iron Chef,
Marketing a food product is not an easy task - apart from the problems
evolving in other cases of inserting a new product into the market,
you have to adhere to various health and food regulations, depending
on the country where you live. There are several components, which are
different than marketing it in your own pub.
However, the fact that you already have a pub could be a good start.
You could start by bottling it and selling it in the pub, to the
patrons. In this case, and in order to publicise the product beyond
the limits of your regular patronage, you might want to consider
contacting local media (for example: restaurants critics), that would
enlarge the scope of interest in your new product.
A next step could be marketing it to local stores, as well as through
the Internet (i.e., through eBay). Marketing to local stores, or
through the Internet, should adhere not only with food production
regulations in your country and region, but also with shipment and
handling regulations, and is thus more complicated. However, it still
doesn't require much of an investment.
When this stage succeeds, you could gradually enlarge your business
action, to involve other areas and markets.
I collected a number of sites that might assist you in planning your
business:
