Hi! I'm trying to locate a "Hi-Techpoint V5C" pen, as described by the
Rock Ridge Eater news service [1]; it doesn't seem to be on Google,
and I'm not sure where to start looking.

I've started the question at $2.00, for locating a supplier; I'll tip
$3.00 more if they'll ship to the United States, and another $2.00 for
immediate availability.

I'm certainly willing to be flexible about this; if this pen has a
successor, I'll give it a shot; it has my curiosity :)

Howdy coral!

Much thanks for your response. No problem with time,
etc. at all.

Unfortunately, I have not been able to locate the
"Hi-Techpoint V5C" pen other than to find a picture
of it on the Taiwan Pilot website.
http://www.pilot-pen.com.tw/main021-2.htm

That does give us the model number: BX-V5C

I emailed the Taiwan Pilot people, and they forwarded
my email to the US Pilot people, and they sent me the
following response:

"The specific pen you are looking for (BX-V) is not sold
in the United States. However, our Precise V5 and
Precise V7 Rolling Ball pens are available and have the
same properties with a slightly different exterior.

Please view these products on our web site at:

http://www.pilotpen.us

The Precise V5/V7 Rolling Ball pens should also be
available at Wal-Mart, Staples, Office Depot, OfficeMax,
as well as other retail outlets."

The US Pilot contact information is:

(203) 377-8800 or service@pilotpen.com

Search Strategy:

Checked through the Taiwan Pilot website and emailed
them for information.

Looking Forward, denco-ga

Neat tip, feilong! Thanks!

I've used the V5, V5C, and V7 pens since these became available in the
Philippines. The thing I like about these pens is that they are
refillable. When the pen runs out of ink, I just carefully pull out
the plastic tip and refill the pen with Rotring ink and I can use the
pen again. The important thing to remember when using this pen is to
never drop it ball-tip first or poke it on to a hard surface. If you
do, don't expect the pen to write smoothly again.

Yup, that's an answer :) It details how to find what I'm looking for
and that it's currently in production, and there's nothing to indicate
that it won't be available. Good enough for me. I'll tip you the
difference, though it may be a few days; if that's a problem, let me
know. Thanks!
