Hello All,
I'm a software developer writing a browser-based web site design
application. I want to offer my users a integrated collection of stock
photography at no additional charge.
An example of this feature can be found in many Microsoft Office
applications - the clip art tool in Word, FrontPage, and Publisher use
ClipArt.com's collection, which is owned by ArtToday.
All of the stock photo license agreements I've run across so far say
I can use photos in web sites, but I cannot resell, distribute,
redistribute, or sub-license the photos. (See
http://www.fotosearch.com/license.asp)
So my 2 questions are:
1. If I am licensing software that includes access to the photos, and
not directly sublicensing the photos themselves, would I be violation
of these common stock photo license agreements?
2. Are there any companies or collections out there which specifically
allow for redistribution, specifically in a software package? If
pricing is published, I would appreciate seeing that info as well.
Thanks for your time,
