I have a Handspring Treo 270 communicater. 
I am hard of hearing. I never hear my phone ring, and I've already got
the
settings up to as full as the default rings allow. I use "loud" volume
in
the ringer preferences- and I have selected "loud" as the ringer of
choice.
I need more volume. Do you know of a way to maker the Treo ring twice
as loud as it already does by default mode? Maybe even a 3rd party
company that offers a way to download or purchase a devise or a means
to get my ring volume a little louder. The vibrate mode is not a
solution, only a slight help.  I am wary of third party software, but
the Handspring support page (unless I am missing something) sends me
to sites with all kinds of songs, and bells and whistles for ringers,
but I could find NO mention of a way to make the 270 RING louder- an
"amplifier, if you will. IS there someone who has knowledge of how to
solve this problem without hooking up a 200 amp speaker to my cell
phone?

This is the highest I will go in an attempt to get an answer. I hope
there is someone out there who can figure it out. I am still missing

"The Treo also includes a rocker switch on the left side that lets you
scroll between items or access the menus, theoretically making it
possible to ignore the included stylus. The rocker switch also
controls volume while using the Treo as a phone, and pushing the
rocker switch in selects whatever is highlighted on the screen."

Sorry, that again is using the default sound available on the
stockTreo 270. I need LOUD- and the rocker switch only gets me to the
normal choices I get in "options."
