Question ID: 200657
We are manufacturers of alcohol and alcoholic beverages like Rum,
Brandy, Gin, and Vodka. We are located in the state of Goa, India. We
have developed a genuine Spiced Rum out of spice extracts and sugar
cane alcohol. We are on the look out for a Venture Capitalist who
would be interested in coming forward with about a million US$ for
marketing the product in India. What is your advice? How do I proceed
from here?

How far are you into the process of raising capital? (example - Do you
have a business plan?)

Thanks for the clarification -

Hello sgtcory. To come straight to the point it is just a thought. I
will give you my business background & other details. That should
provide you with all the leads. I have been into manufacturing and
marketing of liquor in India for the past 18 years. Considering that I
have been up against companies that are established for over a century
I rate my performance as good. Being a first generation businessman I
have limited reach & resources. In my limited area of operation I
would rate my performance as better than that of the multinational
companies and other local large ones. It is paucity of funds that
restrains companies like mine from going national/international even
when we have an excellent product (brand) that can be show cased and
does well. I do have a business plan for the Indian market. Presently
I am planning only a national level foray and the international
exposure will have to wait this outcome. India being a country of over
1000 million people and my company being a local player who has the
experience and a deep knowledge of the market, I am confident of my
business plan. What we need is funds!
