I'm looking for a english speaking company in Japan who can supply me
(wholesale) with Japanese candy (meiji, glico, morinaga etc) for
export to the UK.

Best place to get your answer is Japan External Trade Organization.
They have an office in London.

I've tried them, but the kind of company I'm looking for is one who
probably doesn't normally export, but would be prepared to and speaks
English.  Or maybe who currently exports to the US and would be
interested in exporting similar products to the UK.

I don't think this exactly answers your question, since it's not a
