Hello Maddog2001,
I have been working on your question and have sent out email inquiries
to Western Grains and to the Canadian Wheat Board and unfortunately
they replied that they dont have any statistical information on the
number of western Canadian wheat farmers with internet access. I still
have not heard anything from the Canada Grains Council.
I have only been able to locate statistics related to computer use and
internet access for commercial farming in general in Canada.
Would general statistics interest you as it appears that the specific
data you require is very hard to come by.
Thanks

I have also located tables illustrating computer use by farmers for
each province for 2001.
Here is an example of the information:
Province: Number As a proportion of all
farms using computers
All farms in Province: XXXXX ---
Farms using computers: XXXXX ---
Uses
Bookkeeping: XXXXX XX.X
Livestock/crop record-keeping XXXXX XX.X
Word Processing: XXXXX XX.X
Internet: XXXXX XX.X
E-mail: XXXXX XX.X
Other uses: XXXXX X.X

Maddog2001,
I have also sent out calls and emails to Canadian wheat related
organizations and statistic/research groups but am either awaiting a
reply or had a negative answer. The most relevant data located are
ones similar (in terms of relevance) to the one bobbie7-ga described.

General statistics would be a partial answer but would be of value.
How does a partial answer affect the price of the research?

Hello again Maddog2001,
Im glad that the statistics related to computer use and internet
access of Canadian farmers and the tables for each Canadian province
is acceptable as an answer to your question.
Given that a partial answer can affect the price of the research I
suggest you post a new question addressed to me, and priced
accordingly.
To do so, just write in the subject line For bobbie7-ga only and
that way I will answer your question with the information I mentioned
previously.
Here is an example:

You may be able to simply change the list price of the question
(amount you're willing to pay) when the question is not locked.
This quote is from the Google Answers FAQ:
"If you decide you are willing to pay more for an answer after
setting your price, you can increase the amount any time your question
is not 'locked' (being actively worked on by a Researcher). You'll
only be charged the price you set when and if your question is
answered to your satisfaction."
However, from the wording, it seems also possible that you can only
increase the price of the question, not decrease.
If you cannot decrease the price of the question, you can close this
question and post a new one with the adjusted price.
You could limit the question to a specific researcher (or a group of
researchers) by writing their name(s) on the title or the question;
for example "Tox-ga only" as in:
http://answers.google.com/answers/main?cmd=threadview&id=182026
Or you could choose not to state it, as you did with this question.
Cheers,
Tox-ga
