I would like to know the name of every Nobel Laureate who played a
musical instrument, what instrument they play/played, what year they
won the prize, and what they won
the prize for. I would also like to know if the
laureate mentioned their musical background in their presentation
speech, and if possible for this price, an excerpt of what they said.
The total number of laureates would also be helpful to calculate a
percentage. This is for distribution to a school board that
is thinking of cutting the music program.

Greetings Scorellis:

Your fee offered is a generous one and I am curious if you have
reviewed the list of all Nobel Laureates located at
http://www.nobel.se/search/all_laureates_c.html - there are over 600.
Would you be interested in any paticular award field ratio or X number
of examples as an answer as opposed to "the name of every Nobel
Laureate who played a
musical instrument...?" I ask because to research every name on the
list would take a substantial number of days.

Are you flexible with your answer criteria and, if so, are there any
other answer options you would consider?

Best regards,
journalist-ga

Yes, I looked over that site. Their search feature is pretty good, I
did a search on "flute" "violin" and "piano" and got good results. I
just don't have a few hours to sort through them. I also have the
nagging feeling that I've seen the Nobel Musicians List somewhere
before, and thought that maybe one of you answer people would be able
to find it.

Anyway, thanks anyway, I'm really looking for something completely
comprehensive, I can just sift through it this weekend or maybe split
it up amongst some friends and get the answer that way---I really
would prefer to pay you to do it, but can't afford to pay you for
several days of work.

While searching for the elusive Nobel Musicians List, I came upon
this page, which, while contrary to the spirit of your inquiry,
might prove interesting to you:

That's not contrary to the spirit, nor especially to the reason for
this, at all. Were the school system not so entirely detestable, I
wouldn't have to do things like this to try to convince them to do
what is right, would I?
