I want to learn about the market for educational science supplies in the United States. I believe that Edmond Scientific is the largest supplier. I'd like to find out about the other suppliers. I'm also interested in how the market works--how do teachers or administrators typically buy science supplies? Are they typically purchased as a package, as part of a set curriculum, or are they typically purchased one item at a time on an as needed basis? Or is it something inbetween? Is the science supply business robust? What is the annual volume? Is there room for a new player? What are the barriers to entry? Is the merchandise manufacturered in the United States or is it imported? What are the margins of the business? Anything else you come up with that would be relevant for someone who is interested in entering the science supply would be good as well. |
