Question ID: 201503
I am looking for a electro mechanical assembly to eject single cards
(1 at a time) from a deck of cardboard cards. (similiar size/texture
to playing cards)

A fair bit of custom made work and this could be made, but i want to
research if something like this exists already.

If you find anything relevant to this subject, either something being
sold as a ready-to-use assembly, or even prototype/demo web pages.

Hi quacky!
I have found a report for a sophisticated card dispenser - the "Black
Jack Dealer System" (BJDS).
Here's the abstract:
"The following report outlines the design of the Black Jack Dealer
System. The BJDS is designed to mimic a Black Jack dealer; it will
move to players and dispense cards accordingly in either a face up or
face down orientation. Finally the BJDS will deal out cards for itself
and play against the players.
Input from users requesting to join the game triggers the beginning of
the game. The BJDS moves to each individual player’s position via a
sensor and dispenses out 2 cards – one face up, one face down. The
device then moves to the dealer position to deal out two cards for
itself. As the cards are dealt out a sensing circuit recognizes the
values of the cards and displays on the GUI are created. The BJDS then
moves back to the position of the first player and the lights up of an
LED indicates that the BJDS is ready to receive input from that
respected player. The player can choose to add a card or stay; their
choice is reflected by the system adding a card or moving to the next
player."

The report contains a lot of information on the BJDS's design and the
materials used. You can download the PDF file by clicking here:

I hope you'll find this report useful for your project!
regards,
Jack

that is great!.

But before i close the question, what i am truely looking for is the
sub-assembly to eject the cards, not the system as a whole.
(but their design does show a good technique)
It does not necesarily need to deal with playing cards, perhaps even a
small paper feeding mechanism.

(i did not receive a response email when your answer was posted -
funny, i did last time - maybe i forgot to check something).

hi quacky,
Thank you for giving me the opportunity to clarify the answer.
I only just received an email notification, ONE HOUR after you posted
your request for clarification - it seems it takes a while before the
asker and the researcher receive notification after posting something.
I'm glad you found the BJDS report useful!...
