I've got a Olympus D-100 camera that's giving me trouble. Whenever I
try to start it up, this error message comes up: "D: 1E10". It happens
on both battery and AC power, it happens with or without the memory
card inserted (I've tried two memory cards).

However, when I hook it up to my computer, I can access it just fine.
Is it a problem with the lens or the optical sensor? If it is, is
there an easy fix, or is the camera shot?

Howdy digitalelegance!

It appears that you can try doing a reset on the camera
and if that doesn't work, you will have to send it to
Olympus for repair.  Would the camera reset process,
etc. suffice as an answer?
