Hi goldy43:
A search of the web is not showing any information for a file called
J569MI_G.DLL. Are you *absolutely sure* of that exact spelling? Is it
possible you've got characters mixed-up or missing - or a number
mistaken for a letter??
Thanks for your patience.

When opening Word-Office 5.2 or Word-Spradsheet and all files
contained within, that is the exact message I get. Unless the "I" can
be mistaken for a "1". Thank you. Goldy43

Hi goldy43,
Am I correct to understand that you are talking about Staroffice 5.2?
http://download.unesp.br/windows/Staroffice5.2%20Update/retrieve_pl.htm
leads me to believe the *569* files are part of Staroffice. If that is
the case, perhaps the Sun support page can be of help? They also have
a forum:
http://supportforum.sun.com/staroffice/
and
http://sunsolve.sun.com/pub-cgi/search.pl
Alternatively, looking for the dll on the Staroffice disk might help.

Unfortunately the StarOffice 5.2 was pre-installed with the computer
when I purchased it. Goldy43

goldy43...
Judging by the price you've placed on this question, it seems
within the realm of possibility that you'd be willing to pay
$15 for a used copy of StarOffice 5.2 Deluxe from Amazon:
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/stores/offering/list/-/B00004U9LR/all/ref=dp_pb_a/002-0199299-7742412
If this seems like a good idea, you could even lower the price
for this question, and I will post this as an answer for the
lesser fee. You could then apply your savings to buying the CD.
You could then replace the mising file, or reinstall the program.
If you need assistance with this possibility, let me know.

Hi, goldy43-ga:
It would certainly be worth trying to apply the latest patch from Sun
for your StarOffice 5.2 installation. Assuming you are in Windows
(from the DLL reference), the latest such (cumulative) patch is here:
http://sunsolve.sun.com/pub-cgi/retrieve.pl?patchid=109945&collection=fpatches
It's > 20 Mbytes, so unless you have a broadband connection of some
kind, you might be better off with the CD approach suggested by
sublime1-ga above.
The DLL you named does not appear in the list of those updated by this
patch, but that does not necessarily mean the patch will not fix the
problem.

Can you give us the complete text of the error message you are
receiving? That will help. Also, when was the last time you updated
your anti-virus software? I know of several viruses that tie file
associations to DLL files with randomly generated names, which would
explain why no one has been able to come up with a match on that
filename yet.
