Question ID: 201646
I was trying to create a VCD from a file MPEG by using Roxio CD
creator 5 (Platinum). I went to the option create VCD and followed all
the instructions in the wizard and at last step to write to the CD
writer (HP 8200 series)and before start recording, I get this message
"one or more files have been modified since creating the project. It
is recommended to stop the recording and run validate project from the
application".
If you try to bypass this message and to continue any way the CD is
created but is not worable in any VCD player or DVD. What went wrong?
how can I correct this problem? I noticed also that if the size of the
file is - for example- 500MG bytes, the recorded file is less by 50 or
60 MG bytes.
Please help. I am using windows XP proff. edition

It sounds like a codec problem some where in the conversion of the
MPEG file to the VCD format.

I have had really good luck with Nero using an old HP 4x cd buner. I
have ran into space issuse with 500 meg files ending up bigger than
the 700 meg cd's when the conversion is through.
