Dear Luckycen,

Thank you for your inquiry. Please find below a list of links to either
companies that specialize in booking bed and breakfasts in Scotland or sites
that provide listings of Scottish B&Bs. Please note I have not personally
tried the services of the sites I’ve listed. However, I have tried to filter
out what I believe are more questionable sites.

Before choosing accommodations it might be helpful for you to know about the
Scottish Tourism Board rating system. Please note that B&Bs voluntarily submit
themselves to be rated. Just because a B&B is not rated does not necessarily
mean it is not worth a look. Go to:
http://www.b-and-b-scotland.co.uk/stars.htm for a brief explanation of the
rating system.

Scottish B&B sites:

About Scotland’s list of B&Bs
http://www.aboutscotland.com/b_and_b.html
This site provides lists of privately owned Scottish B&Bs, conveniently broken
down by region. There is also a great clickable map of Scotland where one can
find all the site’s accommodations.

Bed and Breakfast in Scotland Directory
http://www.scotland-bed-and-breakfast.co.uk/index.html
Another great site with a clickable map of accommodations throughout Scotland.
For the more cost conscious, this site provides B&Bs that have 2 & 3 star
ratings from the Scottish Tourism Board.

Scotland’s Best B&Bs
http://www.b-and-b-scotland.co.uk/
This claims, “All the B&Bs on this web site have been awarded four or five
stars for quality of service and accommodation when inspected by the official
Scottish Tourist Board inspectors.”

The Internet Guide to Scotland
http://www.scotland-inverness.co.uk/accommodation.htm
This site provides links to Scottish B&Bs with a brief description of each B&B,
also conveniently broken down by region.

Answer was fine. Google's email request for commentary, however,
could be improved. The email gave a link which I expected would
contain two easily accesible points, as expressed in your email. 1)
The answer, for my review, and 2) a chart for me to click on to the
rate the answer.

-------Instead I found tough navigating to get to 1} and 2}. You
could make it easier, and if you do you will get more responsive
answers.

I like your service, and hope that you will continue it, and improve
its logistics, too.

Please say HI to Sharon - from her father-in-law who hopes to see her
soon.

http://www.aboutscotland.com/map/index.html seems to be what you're looking
for. And you'll find more B&B information on
http://www.aboutscotland.com/b_and_b.html. http://www.scotland-bed-and-
breakfast.co.uk/ links to towns with a list of B&Bs near each town rather than
to individual B&Bs, but should still be useful.
http://www.directoryofukhotels.co.uk/scotland-map.html is less well done and
includes hotels as well as B&Bs.

Note that most rural B&Bs in Scotland probably don't have web sites of their
own.
