Hello mike30-ga,

Perhaps the 1977 movie "Audrey Rose" or in Portuguese “As Duas Vidas
de Audrey Rose”, is the movie you’re thinking of.

“One of Anthony Hopkins first major films where he plays the grief
stricken father of a child who was tragically killed in a car
accident, burnt to death before she could be rescued. This is a slow
moving film that follows Hopkins as he tries to convince Marsha Mason
that her daughter Ivy is in fact the reincarnation of his child Audrey
Rose.”

If this is the movie you’re referring to, please let me know and I
will post the website where you may purchase it in English.

Thanks

Could it have been Millennium (1989) perhaps? Cheryl Ladd portrays a
woman in the future who must go back in time to prevent certain things
from happening in order to protect the integrity of the future. In
doing so she falls in love with a character from the past whom she is
sent to protect from an plane crash (played by Kris Kristofferson.)
