Question ID: 202549
Can anyone help me find any retailer carrying reams of standard
white oversized paper, preferably US C (17"x22") but the A2,
B3, or B4 sizes are ok. I have been able to find A2 paper for
inkjet printers, however this is not acceptable as it costs
far too much. The largest I have been able to find is ledger
(11 x 17") which is too small.

I'd like to find a retailer that will ship anywhere in the U.S.

I have found sources extremely difficult to pull up in Google because
"A2", etc, are highly ambiguous keywords and retrieve all kinds of
unrelated sites. I don't seem to find anything in Yahoo stores, etc.

Thank you!

Hello mjsmigel

I've found two possible suppliers - both outside the US, but quoting
prices in dollars and apparently used to international shipping.

Because I'm not entirely sure what you mean by "standard white" paper,
I should say that these papers are intended for art or craftwork, not
as office supplies. They are A2 size.

One website is offering 500 sheets of 130gsm paper for about $156
including shipping.

The other supplier charges more on the 130gsm paper but also offers
250 sheets of 90 gsm paper for under $40 including shipping to the
USA.

The cheapest price I found on 17" by 22" "photo quality" paper was
around $55 for 100 sheets from a US supplier.

If any of these options would be helpful, please let me know so I can
double check all details and write up an answer for you.

Thanks - Leli

Thanks for your message. The paper I need is to be run through an
Epson 1520 wide-format printer. However I don't care about quality
(this is for drafting work) and the pricy inkjet paper would be a
frivolous expense.

What is "130gsm"?

I will call a paper supplier in the city and see if this can be
obtained locally. I kind of doubt it, but I'll check and post the
answer in about 12-24 hours.

The world of paper is more complicated than I'd realised!

130gsm is heavier, thicker paper than the 90gsm alternative.
"Gsm" stands for grams per square meter. On this page you'll find more
information including a "Table showing equivalent weight in grams per
square meter for various American paper weights and basis sizes."

By the way, if it helps, I think I've found a cheaper price for 500
sheets, with more flexibility on quantity.

Good luck with your phone calls - Leli

Howdy mjsmigel,

I have located an online source for the following:

InkJet Bond, 20# 17x22, 100 Sheets $8.90

If you order 3 packs, the price drops to $8.55 a pack.

Is this a price you can live with?

Looking Forward, denco-ga

I managed to locate a local source of oversized paper.... at of all
things, a drafting and engineering store. They had sizes that were up
to 60 inches wide. It's funny that the huge paper warehouses had
nothing larger than legal size. Anyhow I hope this helps someone.

Ask your friendly neighbourhood architect where they get their paper
for plan drawing from - they might even be willing to split a bulk
order with you.
